Teddi, Glen, and Tony are hustle-bustling Rosslyn’s gardens into shape for planting with oversight from Pam and me, and with plenty of help from our Amish friends. So much anticipation. So much excitement. It’s terribly tempting to leapfrog forward from almost May to almost midsummer when vegetables, fruit, and flowers will be thriving. Zinnias soon in the cutting garden, and a couple of surprise additions courtesy of Susan and Teddi who opted to diversify our garden-to-vase blooms this summer.

In anticipation, Jen Cypress takes you back to August 2024. There’s a moody tone to this fun photo looking west by northwest across the zinnias toward the orchard. Everything is lush! A keen eye might even spy apples on the near trees.
Zinnias Soon
Skyward stemmed petals —
fuschia, yellow, red, orange —
