Unfortunately this afternoon, June 20, 2024, Rosslyn endured another violent tempest touchdown. We’re still processing the wear-and-tear, so I’ll step aside and allow the photographs to illustrate the immediate aftermath.
But first, the good news. It could have been so much worse. Rosslyn was born of sound engineering and architecture two centuries ago. She remains stout and sturdy, enduring against harsh elements, offering repeat testament to her remarkable, year after year. And a are profoundly grateful!

Let’s start with this serene snapshot taken in the afternoon before the severe storm arrived.

A short time later, after the tempest touchdown, the serenity has been sullied. Teak furniture tossed. Hot tub cover, plants, etc. strewn about.

Docks, ready to be installed only hours before, flipped and displaced like toys.

High tunnel, slated for seasonal dismantling and removal, punctured.

Orchard, lovingly tended into existence over almost two decades, badly battered. This productive apple tree hinged at the trunk’s base.

A younger fruit tree, a young cherry, that only a couple of years ago replaced another damaged tree, arced like a contortionist.

Asparagus and bamboo supports an enduring testament to the wind blast.

And so many trees and limbs destroyed.

Plenty of cleanup ahead…

Thank you, Glen, for managing this unfortunate occurrence. Tomorrow is a new day.
What do you think?
