Yesterday’s tempest touchdown was a doozy. A downer. A damaging reminder that climate change is a formidable and unpredictable force with which we all must come to terms. And Essex appears to have been the eye of the storm. (Elisaveta Goff’s photographs and Tina Gardner’s photographs capture some of the devastation.) By this morning chainsaws were whining as town-wide solstice storm recovery got underway.
So this evening I’d like to pronounce especial thanks to Tony Foster for investing 110% of his time and energy to Rosslyn’s solstice storm recovery.
Where 24 hours ago mayhem and debris prevailed, this evening order and tidiness are once again restored.
There’s still work to be done. Damage to orchard, docks, trees, and high tunnel will all take some thoughtful healing.
And yet, a day after a rain and lightning embellished microburst tore through town, Tony’s rewound the clock as only he can. A man with a mission. And the strength, endurance, and perseverance to ensure success!
Thank you, Tony!
