Octobering is crisp, cooling, and colorful with serendipitous summer souvenirs, sun soaked and warm, scattered to accentuate bittersweet contrasts.
Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.
— F. Scolt Fitzgerald (The Great Gatsby)
Octobering, Poem
After the mesmerizing months —
sultry summer’s soporific thrum,
bountiful blossoms, decadent harvest —
Octobering is a reminder
of all that is real and important.
Clarity redacts pomp and pageantry;
focus forges excess into path and plans.
I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.
— L. M. Montgomery (Anne of Green Gables)
I too rejoice and savor these final days before haunted Halloween and before November’s windy arrival. Cheers to Octobering!
