We wish you a wild turkey (Meleagris gallopavo) day! From our early days at Rosslyn (“2007 Thanksgiving Remembered”) through recent, more peripatetic “Thanksgiving Thanks”, this holiday has resonated more than others for us. We’ve never lost sight of how many people have invested their time and energy and hope in our quest to revitalize this property. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who has shared the stream with us. We are forever grateful.
I’ve shared a couple of individual Thanksgiving, inspired posts recently: “Thank You, Pam” and “Thank you, Tony”. There are more in store. I’m hoping to showcase others who’ve been team working doggedly, day-after-day in the last year or two. As the saying goes, no good deed goes unpunished!
But today I’ll postpone the laurels and fun photos to wish all of you a happy Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving
The year has turned its circle,
— Anonymous
The seasons come and go.
The harvest all is gathered in
And chilly north winds blow.
Orchards have shared their treasures,
The fields, their yellow grain,
So open wide the doorway~
Thanksgiving comes again!
This celebration of seasonality, of beginnings and endings, of revitalization and rehabilitation is also a celebration of gratitude and family. We consider our chosen family to be bountifully swollen with so many of you, and we are genuinely and profoundly grateful. Thank you.
And happy Thanksgiving!
