An afternoon and evening most associate with Super Bowl Sunday, for us is instead an opportunity get outside and adventure. Birdsong. Fresh air. Crisp. Clean. Adrenaline and endorphins. Laughter. Lots of laughter. And then a sybaritic end-of-day that just might have included a massage. Hearthside supper… fire and ashes.
Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire.
— Gustav Mahler

More meditation than daily update, this evenings update is an invitation to consider. To wonder. To mindfully wander. It’s also an opportunity for me to anchor my growing confidence in the conviction of others.
We must be willing to let go of the life we’ve planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.
— Joseph Campbell
Fire and ashes. Unstuck. Forging ahead. Discovering. And creating.

I return in closing to a haiku I posted in “Phoenix Rising” a couple of years ago.
Phoenix Rising
Auburn and umber,
where embers are memories,
phoenix from ashes.
Fire and ashes…
What do you think?
