I’d like to offer a grateful hat tip to Glen for adeptly (and efficiently) repairing the damaged access panel in the side of the laundry room / pantry cabinetry. The removable section of T&G bead board provides a well camouflaged way to connect the dryer ducting when the appliance is pushed into its countertop cubby. But repainting (and possibly some overzealous caulking) effectively glued the removable panel in place. When it was removed recently to service the dryer the T&G “tongue” broke, creating the need for a dryer access panel repair.

The image above shows the section of bead board which was no longer viable unless we could figure out a rollback machine.

Absent a rollback machine, the long slivers of splintered wood weren’t reliably repairable. But they *were* replaceable.

Glen opted to replace breadboard sections on both sides of the hidden panel.

With precision and patience Glen duplicated the original construction method perfectly, here’s the final result.

Better than new! Well done, Glen. Many thanks.
