Windless wisps of waves
whisper wordless vapors,
part lake and part sky.

Yes, morning’s like today, when cold air confronts warm water, blur boundaries. Shore and lake’s boundary seems less certain. Water surface and the atmosphere above appear to commingle, perhaps even playfully. Those are the blurry boundaries I’m alluding to, that I *want* to emphasize. But, in fairness, this photograph blurs more than I can attribute to lake smoke. The boathouse itself is blurry. And the fence, the road road, the sunrise, the clouds, the everything,…
