Monday snow day! Lots and lots of shoveling out after a pair of back-to-back snowstorms delivered a blizzard bonanza reminiscent of those “real winters” of yesteryear. No Snowmageddon and no snowpocalypse, but plenty more of the powdery perfection than we’ve received in recent years.

Until last week it’s been a mild winter, mild to the extreme! In fact, the absence of notable snowfall has enabled Tony and Glen to beaver away at a backlog of grounds projects (including remediating a a long abandoned legacy water cistern) that normally would’ve had to wait until late spring or summer. Bob and Phil have likewise been tackling warm / dry season site work at ADK Oasis Lakeside and ADK Oasis Highlawn that we never would’ve expected to happen in mid February.

I’m tempering any disappointment that I might feel about these and other projects stalling. we’ve been fortunate. Take our wins. And shake off the inconvenience that inevitably results when projects stall (and get buried beneath a couple feet of snow!)

Susan and I are profoundly grateful to Glen and Tony for their strength and endurance. Their backs and biceps will offer testament to today’s toil when they wake up tomorrow morning. Thank you, gentlemen!

Even the icehouse has been carved out of the snow! That said, there’s plenty of wind in the forecast tonight, so we anticipate some re-drifting by tomorrow morning.

And, in addition to all of the snow shoveling, accolades are due Sean and Steve for keeping the driveway and parking areas snow plowed. Thank you, all!
