Day’s end. After wake surfing…
I’m overcome with gratitude as we head home following an end-of-day, end-of-weekend, end-of-yard-sale wake surf. Thank you.
Thank you, Susan, Denise, John, and Cheri, for joining us in a colossal re-homing extravaganza (aka “yard sale”) for Essex Day. Thank you, Pam, Tony, Supi, Glen, and Peter for helping us pull together a major post-construction, downsizing, and repurposing event. Thank you, Champlain Tents, for the snazzy circus tent and tables. Thank you, Town of Essex Supervisor, Ken Hughes and Essex Initiatives, for pulling together the best attended Essex Day in recent memory. Thank you to everyone who came by for a grab-and-go treasure hunt and/or a linger-longer conversation. Thank you, weather gods, for the best weather all summer. And thanks to the mystery man who arrived at day’s end today to spirit off the ENTIRE freebie pile!
I intend to post a yard sale postmortem in the next day or two reflecting on the joy of rehoming belongings no longer needed, and the wellspring of gratitude I’ve experienced each time we match items no longer necessary to us with new owners keen to reuse and recycle. What a community!
