The best perk of living in Vermont, I often joke, is watching the Adirondack sundown. Spectacular every time!
Ed Huber’s aerial photograph looking west from Rosslyn’s waterfront, the setting sun moments from vanishing behind Boquet Mountain, offers an invitation to unwind, to toast good fortune, and to begin daydreaming another day’s adventures.
Adirondack Sundown
Does day-to-dusk
pause,
that I may
tip to lip
a tumbler
of liquid gold?
Or is it another
orb ablaze,
tranquil atop
mountains
tending
toward
twilight?
Tonight time's
ticktock whispers
tender toasts
to handsome home
on banded lawn
presiding proud
at water's edge,
whiskey weathered
words and
sundown
souvenirs.
Hat tip to Ed for another exceptional perspective on golden hour at Rosslyn. Cheers to Adirondack sundown!
